October has a lot of birthdays. Actually, so did September now that I think about it…

Regardless, today, October 20th, is a very special one, as my beautiful, engineer-in-training, goofy beyond all reason cousin, Kitty, turned 20 years old today. I am honored to say that she is someone that I am related to, someone who I get to make memories with on holidays and on summer vacations but who cares so much about what is going on in my day-to-day life when we are apart. I know I speak for all of my cousins when I say that she inspires us to just truly be better people. Her kindness is genuine in a way that is rare. She’s got an old soul but a young spirit – the best of both worlds.
