It really is the little things with me. I started today eating a bacon, egg, & cheese that was served on a red & green bagel. You may not think this is that big a deal/probably are right. If you have read my bio, however, you know that this is literally my favorite food that I could eat every single day. The fact that my sandwich was colored for Christmas was just the icing on the cake. (Wow. I really love food.)

Most of my day was spent getting my little sister ready for her final high school semi-formal. While the dances themselves weren’t necessarily my favorite, I loved the prep – hair styling, dress shopping, mani/pedi, etc. She may be the little sister, but I swear she is 10x more grown-up than I was at her age. Even though the day was a tad chaotic, Meghan looked beautiful when we finally sent her off after taking her pictures.

While I have been home, I have taken to sharing a couple classic family photos across various social media channels. This one came from an album that my mom compiled for each of us two Christmases ago. I love that we all are sporting silly grins and that I am looking up at my siblings with nothing but joy. This photo reminded me of a poignant line from The Santa Clause, one of my favorite Christmas movies.

My parents & I concluded the night with a quick visit to one of our favorite local spots. I ran into my oldest friend in the whole world, and I am dying to catch up with her over a glass of champagne at my family’s annual Christmas party next week. She has brought out the best in me literally since we were born.
