You may remember the basic elements of this post from my feature (appropriately named) Back to Basics that featured Cindy’s first set of photos.

{ GAP Blazer | Vintage Levi’s Cutoffs  | J.Crew T-Shirt | Calvin Klein Watch // Similar | J.Crew Bracelet | Pearl Clip-On Earrings | Ray-Ban Aviators | Brian Gavin Hearts and Arrows Diamond Pendant ℅ | Birkenstocks via J.Crew }

Although we moved to a different part of the park to take these pictures, I only added one additional element to my wardrobe.

I was fortunate enough to get this blazer for (wait for it…) TWO DOLLARS at GAP a couple seasons back. I love that it is such a bright punch of color, but I feel like the white lining makes it slightly formal and, therefore, elevates my overall look whenever I wear it. I prefer to don it for networking events at school, but it can also be worn for a day at the office and/or happy hour.

As most tend to be navy, camel, or black, my magenta GAP garment always garners attention. I even had a woman stop me on the subway this past summer asking where I got it. She insisted her girlfriend had been looking for something very similar, but she hadn’t had any luck so far. I am always happy when someone takes my shopping recommendations. Genuinely, it is a source of pride. Blazers just tend to be one of those items I really stock up on. Thus, it made me happy to share my knowledge of GAP and other go-to blazer brands (J.Crew, Old Navy, and Banana Republic to name a few). I can’t help it; a structured jacket looks put together.

Do you agree?
