Mother’s Day should always be an important day of celebrating the women who encourage, support, and, above all, love us throughout the course of our lives. I was lucky enough to spend the day at my house honoring my mom, grandmother, and Aunt Mary.

My grandmother has always encouraged my love of antique items. She and I were discussing a fascinator she had worn to one of my cousin’s graduation tea, and I remembered that I had a treasure from abroad which I had found at a vintage store in Glasgow, Scotland. My friend, Mary Kate, helped me pick this blue feathered beauty. It was the right accessory for this polka dot shift dress.

The day was warm and sunny, and my talented cousin, Maggie, was excited to play with my digital camera and help photograph for the blog. Not only did Maggie take pictures, but her sisters, Elizabeth and Kate, were enthusiastic models jumping in pictures with me!

We took a few pictures in the afternoon, but the sunset made for even better lighting.

 

This is such a fun accessory that Kate wanted to wear it. Didn’t she look darling in it?

I wore it all day, only taking it off for a few final photos as the sun really began to set.

I am so grateful to Maggie (pictured below) for taking photos all day. This girl’s got an eye, and I am looking forward to many more photo shoots.

I loved that my family was excited to share in the Styles I Like fun.
