Back to Basics

Today’s post is all about going back to basics, and I think a black t-shirt & jean cutoffs is about as basic as you can get.

I know I know… fall is rapidly approaching. Therefore, all we want to do is wear chunky knits & boots while holding a pumpkin spice latte. However, at least up here in Boston, the weather has been pretty fickle (AKA super H-O-T) as of late, so I am not ruling out the possibility of continued shorts-wearing opportunities. I usually stand for my blog photos, but this sweet little green chair that we found seemed like the perfect bit of sidewalk furniture. I love how the yellow taxi cabs pop against the background. Sometimes that’s the nice thing about wearing a more minimalist outfit; colors really do stand out.

My silver Birks were also pretty pared down for this look. It was a warm day in New York, so I preferred to keep my hair off my neck and up in a bun. For me, the accessories game was pretty simple this day – watch, pearl earrings, bracelet, and my all-time favorite Brian Gavin Hearts and Arrows Diamond Pendant. I had a bunch of bags with me this day, including but not limited to my Marc Jacobs metallic clutch, Herschel Supply backpack, & M.M.LaFleur tote bag. I fully admit that I am a bag lady – a maximalist bag lady.

My amazing friend, teammate, and organizational extraordinary, Cindy, snapped these pictures over the summer in New York City – right outside of Union Square Park. Although we were only together for a short time, she took so many photos that I have decided to break them up  into a three segments. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come. XOXO
