NYFW Part #2

The next season of NYFW is upon us, but I still have stories & photos from last season to share. I promise my upcoming recaps this September will be more timely! MY FIRST RECAP from the previous season is jam-packed with details.

PART 2

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH

I started the day early with a TRESEMME appointment. When I asked my hairstylist, NEAL PITTMAN, how to keep my braids intact throughout my busy day, he recommended using a can of hairspray to roll the baby hairs into place. Such a simple trick!

I stopped by the WWD Style Dimension lounge for the panel led by LAURA KIM & FERNANDO GARCIA, the co-creative directors of OSCAR DE LA RENTA. It was interesting to learn about their tenure at this iconic brand. They spoke highly of Oscar’s legacy of leadership. He taught their team that everybody should be able to contribute to their projects & that it was important to work together towards a consensus on designs. Thank you to the SPARKLE BAR for the quick beauty touch-up after the panel.

KAT & I headed to the Fashion Hong Kong Show hosted by the Riviere Agency. Three designers were featured – HEAVEN PLEASE+, ANVEGLOSA, 112 MOUNTAINYAM. My favorite pieces were from ANVEGLOSA; the romance of leather is perfect for the cooler months. Check out my Instagram NYFW HIGHLIGHT for videos from the show.

Marguerite met me for a quick Shake Shack date before a quick outfit change. I was invited to attend the CHROMAT show, a brand that I respect for many different reasons. This was a real highlight from the past few years of attending NYFW. Due to the kindness of a friend in the industry who had a ticket they could not use, Steph was able to come with me. She has no idea how lucky she was that CHROMAT was her first NYFW show!

As I shared in MY INSTAGRAM POST, I cried when I received my invitation. Being able to attend a runway show for this creative, caring brand filled me with gratitude. CHROMAT continually reminds me how fashion can be both impactful & fun. While I did have a seat, I wanted to stand up and move to the beat that played during the entire show. Every model looked strong, happy, & proud in bright colors. Their commitment to the environment, to the LGBTQ+ community, & to the celebration of diversity was prominent throughout the entire show. Cannot wait to see what they bring to the runway in September.

Check out two of my favorite pieces from the runway that are still available to shop online!

I was nervous about being late to the show, so I did not snap too many photos beforehand. I properly shot my look the next day with Steph (even though my hairstyle had changed by that point). A huge thank you to KONI BENNETT for my sleek pony.

We picked up slices of pizza on the way home before heading back out to the 11 HONORE pop-up. My second visit during NYFW was to celebrate my fabulous friend, SARAH. Her cocktail party was a highlight of the week, as Steph & I drank champagne while celebrating with some of the most stylish plus bloggers in the industry.

The 11 HONORE & SHOPIFY teams created a beautiful space. The first floor was where we gathered for the cocktail party, while the garments from their runway show were displayed on the second floor. The designers’ names were projected onto the floor at the base of each item. There were lovely flowers & light refreshments throughout the space.

I will be posting Part 3 very soon, so check back for the final post. As we approach another season of NYFW, do you have any questions about the whole process that I can answer for you? Let me know in the comments!

Xx,

Erin
