Thanksgiving 2017

Happy Thanksgiving all!

I am taking a moment en route to my Great Aunt Annie & Great Uncle Eddie’s to count my blessings. The holidays are my favorite time of year. Too often though, I feel as though they pass by in such a blur of champagne, parties, & cheer. This year, I resolve to reflect on the special moments as they are happening, in addition to sharing them here.

What am I giving thanks for this year? 

I am thankful for my immediate, my extended, & my chosen families. I am grateful beyond measure for the people who show me love in many different ways during the many different seasons of my life.

I am thankful for Stephanie – her kindness, her humor, & her willingness to be part of my craziness is a blessing I do not deserve.

I am thankful for my health.

I am thankful for rainbow sunsets & music & my cousins.

I am thankful for those who are fighting for what is right.

I am thankful for my home in New York City, where I am determined to keep growing.

My outfit from today will be up later this weekend, and I cannot wait to show you all the details. I will preface by exclaiming that I downloaded Kira Kira specifically for the occasion! As you can imagine, sequins are going to be a major theme this holiday season. FYI – I will be sharing cyber week sale round-ups & Christmas gift guides over the next few days, so make sure to check back often.

I shared two different Thanksgiving outfits in 2014 – BACK HOME BALLER & WINTER WHITES. This was my quick little post from THANKSGIVING 2015. The turkey hat is obviously coming with me to dinner tonight. Unfortunately, in 2016, I think I was still too in shock from the election…
