Barneys New York

I wore this outfit for a very specific occasion during my internship this past summer. It was my Final Summer Presentation, the cumulative effort of myself & my teammates after multiple weeks preparing, developing, & researching our idea. I pulled the two main pieces of my outfit – my pencil skirt & blazer – and was out the door just in time to catch the train.

{ GAP Blazer | Banana Republic Pencil Skirt  | J.Crew T-Shirt | Banana Republic Wedges | Pearl Clip-On Earrings | J.Crew Brooch | Ray-Ban Aviators | Brian Gavin Hearts and Arrows Diamond Pendant ℅  }

I believe in the whole philosophy of “dress well, test well” so my outfit was important for this day of presentations. I thought I had pulled a super stylish combination. It wasn’t until I was out of the subway & heading into my office that I realized I looked less Barneys New York and more like Barney the Dinosaur. Don’t get me wrong. I love a purple & green combination, but I laugh looking back at these photos because I honestly think I look like that jolly, singing dinosaur.

C’est la vie.

This is my third installment from my shoot with Cindy. Although I realize it is a little chillier outside now, I think you can still wear a blazer & pencil skirt with a pair of black leather boots. She & I had a blast with this part, as there were so many people walking by who we were able to interact with. Scroll down all the way to the bottom to see one person who literally jumped into the photos!!! I can’t wait to share the photos she & I shot today in the coming weeks. I am lucky to have friends & loved ones with such an eye for photography.

This gentleman saw Cindy & I taking photos, so he decided to come jump right into the shoot. He was actually really nice, and as you can see below, we ended up following each other on Twitter. Turns out, he was a musician in a hip local NYC band. Just another reason why I love blogging – making connections in these fun, crazy ways with all kinds of creative people.
