Working for Jebbit, an on-campus Internet startup, has been such an important part of my time at Boston College. As a Jebbit employee, I have gained inbound marketing, sales, and public relations skills, in addition to an overall greater confidence in my developing capabilities as a businesswoman. Whether or not the company was an outright success, being able to contribute to this team would have been a significant experience.

Sitting in my Portico class Freshman year, where I first learned Jebbit was looking for student interns, I could never have imagined that our company would grow at such a rapid rate. A little over a year and a half later, it is incredible to reflect upon the funding we have raised, the partnerships we have garnered, the press we have received, and most importantly, the great opportunities in the future to expand our mission to make advertising more efficient and effective for brands and consumers.

Tomorrow, the leaders of our innovative company, Tom Coburn (CEO), Chase McAleese (CTO), and Jonathan Lacoste (COO) will pitch our company to potential investors at Tech Star’s Boston Demo Day.

This two-hour event, where thirteen other startups will also be presenting their ideas, is a culmination of several months of hard work. A combination of world-class mentoring and seed funding allows businesses to develop rapidly in the Tech Stars accelerator program. I congratulate our leaders and my fellow student employees who have worked on Jebbit for the past two years. Together, we have made this company what it is today.

JebbitLove is hard to define, but it easy to see. It is apparent in each team meeting, Facebook message, tweet, post-fashion show photo shoot, congratulatory high-five, pizza party, street team event, orange Easer egg distribution, Mod Christmas party, and any other crazy moment that defines our motivated and enthusiastic team.
